Sunday School Hosts Dinner
Easter Sunday 2018
Welcome Rev Cheen Khaw
Kia Ora, I am a fifth generation overseas Chinese from Malaysia. Besides being the Associate Priest here at St Barnabas, I am also a part time Port Chaplain with Mission to Seafarers ministering to seafarers from a diversity of ethnicities, cultural and religious backgrounds from all over the world. My wife Yukiko is from Japan, and is a part time Chaplain at University of Auckland. We have a nine plus year-old son Yohane, who keeps us on our toes!
We love interacting with people of other cultures and ethnicities and are passionate about sharing the love of God. The vision that energises us is taken fromRev. 7: 9 – “.... and there was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, from all the tribes and peoples and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb....” That’s our picture of church – young and old, spanning the generations, from all walks of life, of every ethnicity, cultural background and language worshipping God and celebrating life together.
You will experience that when you stepped into St Barnabas, Glenfield!
